As a sign of respect in almost any form of the military, you have the Salute. A salute is used by enlistees to show respect to officers and by officers to those of higher rank.
It must be mentioned that "respect" is something that is earned and not just a "gimme" that comes with rank - a notion that many leaders tend to forget.
